Utilizing Trusted Social Messengers in South Florida to encourage COVID-19 Vaccinations

The Health Foundation of South Florida (HFSF) enlisted XOMAD to activate local, trusted community messengers to help increase COVID-19 vaccinations across the South Florida community.

The Challenge:

The 2021 program sought to encourage vaccination, especially with Black, Latino/Hispanic and younger audiences who were vaccine hesitant fueled by misinformation, through a digital door-to-door campaign utilizing local, trusted messengers to share personal stories on why they chose to become vaccinated. The campaign also sought to provide official resources on the vaccine and how to become vaccinated.

XOMAD’s Solution: #IDidItSFL #DontWaitSFL

XOMAD leveraged its proprietary technology engine to identify 34 trusted, local social media messengers, whose social media followings numbered between 1,000 and 150,000, to share personal stories and provide official information on the vaccine and how to get vaccinated.

The Results:

  • The 34 trusted, local social media messengers posted 184 posts, stories and Tweets and achieved over 2.6 million impressions and reaching almost 600,000 South Floridians.
  • XOMAD’s one-of-a-kind technology engine ensured that over 87% of the audience saw 3 or more pieces of content from participating creators, critical for generating the frequency necessary to change minds and drive action. On average, a member of HFSF’s target audience saw over 3 pieces of content from the #IDidItSFL campaign.

XOMAD’s campaign with HFSF is just one sliver in many initiatives with nonprofits, governmental & corporate clients. Want to learn more about how to use social media messengers to increase awareness? Get in touch today.
